TNT students speak up

As part of the ongoing national conversation around gun violence, brought to the forefront with the anniversary of the Parkland School shooting, NPR produced this documentary. The film offers teens from different backgrounds a platform to share their thoughts, fears and stories. This collaboration is another one in which Youth ALIVE!’s TNT students stepped up to the plate.

Teens on Guns

NPR logoThis media coverage is just one of the ways that Youth ALIVE! supports opportunities for youth to experience a sense of empowerment. Our TNT staff educators strive to connect TNT youth leaders with resources and new relationships, but the ideas, engagement and activism come from the youth leaders! Check our Armon and Kasim about halfway through this video produced by NPR on the anniversary of the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas shooting.

In addition to being teenagers, these students are focused on making positive changes, not only in their own lives, but in the lives of students and families who have faced similar adversity due to gun violence. Each year, we are moved by the growing impact of TNT program. Learn more about the details of this work.
