Lauren Greenberg is Youth ALIVE!’s Director of Development and Communications. Lauren has a deep love of Oakland, a place she has called home for nearly a decade. Prior to joining Youth Alive, Lauren was a member of the Major Gifts team at Earthjustice, the nation’s leading non-profit public interest environmental law firm. However, it was during Lauren’s tenure as a member of the development team at Giffords Law Center—formerly the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence—where she first learned about Youth Alive.
Lauren is a passionate advocate for community-driven solutions to violence prevention, grass-roots organizing, and racial and economic justice, and youth leadership. She considers Youth Alive to be the perfect alignment of her experience, interests, and purpose.
Before making the switch into the world of fundraising, Lauren worked in direct service for 8 years as a youth advocate and informal educator with high school students in San Francisco and youth at the Santa Cruz County Juvenile Probation Center and the Santa Cruz County Alcohol and Drug Programs. Lauren graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz Cum Laude with a major in Community Studies, Youth and Society. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast, home cook, music fan, and doting mother to her pit bull, Bruno.
