Urban Renaissance: Youth Alive's Gallery Showing and Taquiza Event for Hometown Hero

Jun 15, 2024 12:00PM - 3:00PM

Inaugural Hometown Hero fellow Edwin Galvan is culminating his experience in a photography showing at San Antonio park

On June 15, 2024, Youth Alive! will host an inspiring event at San Antonio Park, showcasing the vibrant life and culture of Oakland through the lens of Edwin Galvan, also known as ‘Elpatronshotem’. Edwin is the first Hometown Hero Intern, and he will present his photo collection titled “Urban Renaissance.”

This gallery showing, accompanied by a Taquiza, is not just a display of photographs but a celebration of community and the culmination of the Hometown Hero Internship. The event will take place from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the tennis courts located at 1701 E 19th St, Oakland, CA 94606.

Edwin Galvan shares his thoughts on the experience, stating, “It’s been a pleasure to be a part of a team that goes all in for what they know is right. A team with a story to tell and actions that follow. I’ve learned a lot from a lot of you and a special thank you goes out to those who showed nothing but love.”

The photographs on display will capture the essence of life in Oakland, reflecting its diverse and dynamic community. This event is a testament to the commitment of Youth Alive! and its partners, Vertical Skillz and Pantera Power, to foster local talent and celebrate the spirit of the city.

Join us for an afternoon of art, culture, and community at San Antonio Park. Let’s come together to support Edwin and the remarkable work he has accomplished through the Hometown Hero Internship program.
