Natasha Johnson

Mental Health Counselor

Natasha Johnson is a passionate advocate for social justice, with a focus on healing, empowerment, and liberation through a holistic, anti-oppressive, and intersectional lens. With extensive experience in mental health, criminal justice reform, and support for marginalized communities, Natasha has dedicated her career to combating systemic violence and promoting freedom from punitive systems.

She is currently Youth Alive’s first in-house therapist dedicated to supporting the Khadafy Washington Project (KWP), which helps families of homicide victims navigate the trauma and aftermath of losing a loved one to violence. Natasha’s past roles include serving as an intensive case manager at Seneca Family of Agencies, where she supported youth on probation, and working at the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform on youth justice and violence reduction initiatives. She has also conducted research on parole reform at the Columbia Justice Lab and served as a forensic social worker in public defender’s offices in Contra Costa County and Manhattan, New York.

Natasha holds a BA in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley and a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University. Motivated by her personal healing journey and the impact of the criminal legal system, Natasha is committed to ending generational cycles of trauma and sharing the path toward liberation
