Tiara Upshaw

Tiara Upshaw lets funders know Youth ALIVE! is doing the work in the community that we say we are doing. “I’m in administration,” Tiara shared. “Basically making sure we report things in order for the people who give us money.”

Seeing the impact of her work is important to Tiara. Because she reports on the work of YA! she reads client stories and is well acquainted with the success of the violence prevention, intervention, and healing work she is a part of. “We’re helping people from the area that I’m from; we have success stories of people getting off the street and out of trouble,” she said.

Making a difference is the point. “Knowing that we are making a difference. Knowing that my work is actually going to help people and be successful and not unnoticed.”

Of course Tiara is more than the work she does. “I’m a hard worker, I do my best, I’m passionate, I love people and like to help people anyway I can,” Tiara said.
