YA! Policy & Advocacy Director Gabriel Garcia in DC with fellow summit panelists

While Youth ALIVE! is rooted in Oakland, our agency and staff are recognized nationally as innovators on the streets and as leaders in the movement to end gun violence and to address our national epidemic of violence as the public health crisis it is.

Last week, YA! Policy and Advocacy Director Gabriel Garcia represented Youth ALIVE! at the Gun Violence Prevention Summit in Washington, DC. hosted by the Center for American Progress. Gabriel spoke on a panel called Increasing Access to Victim Services for Gun Violence Survivors. Expanding victim access to services and support is an issue Gabriel has teamed up with YA! clients to work on diligently and with success in California.
